Classical Musical Myth in Secondary Music Education

The thesis is focused on the influence of mythology on music. Classical myths with musical elements are understood as an inspiration sources for musical works, especially on instrumental program music, musical impressionism and on the music of 20th century. Historiographic aspect of the topic is also taken into consideration. The interpretation of myths in music is conducted using the theory of archetypes by Carl Gustav Jung and modified semantic analysis. The ways of applying the complex set of mythology, archetypes and music for purposes of music education forms an important part of the work. The first chapter explores theoretically possibilities of interaction between myth and music, introduces the theory of archetypes, and defines possible ways of understanding the musical archetypes and their use in interpretation of the musical work. The second chapter is concerned with the classical myths of Apollo, Dionysus, Orpheus, Pan and Sirens. The chapter presents particular versions of the myths and conducts their interpretation. The third chapter focuses on the selected mythological motifs as inspiration for the musical work in the historical perspective. Analysis of Gender Archetypes in the Book Women Who Run With the Wolves

In this thesis, I focus on the gender analysis of a book called Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pincola Estes. In my opinion, this book can be used both as study material and in one's personal life since it's a interpretative essayist which is in between a scientific text and fiction. In my thesis, I expand theories of Annis Pratt, Pam Morris, and Judith Fetterley. Since Estes puts a lot of focus onto the importance of archetypes I interpret them in the theoretical part and afterward, I put my full focus onto them in the analytical part of the thesis. Estes is strongly influenced by the analytical psychology of Carl Gustav Jung, because of this I focus on the subject, about which Jung's classical texts are about and which concepts can be taken subversive. At the same time, I am trying to point out in what sense was the Estés approach similar or vice versa is different from the other authors dealing with the archetypal issue. While working on the other topics mentioned above I am working on identifying other concepts, mainly feminist based theories, which influenced the discourse of the text. Pollock and Jung

To be able to demonstrate Jung's symbolic archetypes of the collective unconscious, I have taken as an example the relation between Jackson Pollock and the analytical psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. At the beginning I have aimed to describe the wider context, the meaning of the unconscious, and key psychological aspects that are necessary to be understood for being able to interpret some of Pollock's early works. At my thesis, I am not talking only about psychotherapy, which he attend for the first time in 1938, but also about his deeper interest of Jungian concepts and archetypes were expressed in his paintings. Since 1941 is obvious that his work contains more elements of imagination. Base on Jung's principles, his work is also more focused on myths and cultures of early civilizations - Assyrian, Egyptian, Mayan and early Colombian art. This impact of unconscious symbolism was also caused by John Graham's theories, and by "Modern Man literatue" of Joseph Campbell or Harvey Fergusson. At the end of my thesis, I am looking for ways of implications of Pollock's experiences within psychoanalysis on visual style of his work. This thesis is a literary analysis that discusses gender archetypes within two extensive literary works of Ladislav Klíma which he adapted into final pieces: Sufferings of Prince Sternenhoch and Glorious Nemesis. The methodological and theoretical part of the work examines the question of literary canon, defends feminist criticism as a legitimate approach to text analysis, looks back at the relatively short history of the use of gender as an analytical category, and represents a method of resistant reading. It also reflects the inspirational source of Klíma's authorship, the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche with an emphasis on gender aspects. Using classical feminist texts, works of literary theory, and the works that are central (not exclusively to feminist) analysis of (not only literary) archetypes identifies (mostly) female literary characters with some of the traditional (but also less common) archetypes - mother, witch, goddess of justice and fate, collaborator, and others. Comparison of the point of view on human being as seen by Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and their descendants

The aim of this paper it to observe different approaches to human beings. Two major points of view will be that of Karl Marx and of Sigmund Freud. In which apects are their deffinitions of human being, behavior and thinking processes different and in which are they similar? How are their ideas transferred in the work of oher authors and where does it lead? Is it possible to find similar streams in the work of their followers? These are the two major questions that this paper will try to answer. Another meaning this paper should have is to create a meanigful and coherent source of various authors who were involved in examination of human being.
Theoretical Bases and their Representation in Surrealist Work of Vítězslav Nezval

The time period during which the Surrealist Group in Czechoslovakia and during which Vítězslav Nezval was creating surrealistic works has several theoretical bases in psychology and philosophy. The purpose of this thesis is to list these bases and interpret them in connection with Nezval's surrealistic works. Sources used comprise of fictional and theoretical literature and also period press and publications about surrealism.
The Myth and Dream.

Thesis is focused on the analysis of symbolic and archetypal dimension of an ancient myth, a biblical story and a fairy tale. We pay attention to the interpretation of dreams which are explicitly mentioned in the artifacts. The first part is devoted to the definition of theoretical background of dream interpretation in Freudian and Jungian psychotherapy. The main part is devoted to the interpretation and comparison of literar artifacts and dreams included.
